Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/Gas mark 6
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the sour cream and milk. Chop the dried pears finely. Add to the mixture. Sift together the flour, salt, mace, baking powder and baking soda. Fold into the creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a well-oiled baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.
