Cookies with Spices

Tongaat Cookies

Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas mark 5

Soak raisins overnight. Cream butter, add sugar, mix well. Add drained raisins. Add sour cream, beat thoroughly. Sift together flour, spices, soda, baking powder and salt, add alternately with buttermilk to first mixture.

Mix well and drop by teaspoon on well greased baking trays. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
