Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas mark 5
Cream together the sugar, pumpkin, butter, and orange peel. Stir in the dry ingredients. Mix well, then stir in the raisins and nuts.
Drop the dough by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking tray. Bake until light brown, 8-10 minutes. Remove from the baking tray to cool. Makes about 4 dozen.
