Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas mark 5
Melt the carob chips slowly in a saucepan over low heat. Mix in the sugar. Add the condensed milk and butter; stir until the butter is melted. Pour the mixture over the flour in a bowl and stir until blended. Add the vanilla and nuts. Let stand for 15 minutes.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at for exactly 8 minutes. Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack.
