Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas mark 5
Cream together the butter and sugar. Mix in the buttermilk. Add chopped raisins and nuts. Sift together the flour, baking powder and soda. Gradually add to the creamed mixture.
Drop from a teaspoon onto a greased baking tray, 2 1/2 inches apart. Bake for 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
