Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas mark 5
Melt the carob on a low heat or in the microwave. Cream together the butter and sugars. Add the melted carob, sour cream and orange peel. Beat well. Stir in flour, soda, salt and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 12 - 15 min. Cool the cookies on a rack.
Melt the carob chips on a low heat and blend in the butter and orange essence. When smooth, remove from the heat and coat the cookies as desired. Leave to set.
